Welcome 2025!

Yes, I’m still around – even if you haven’t heard from me all semester. It all got more stressful than I expected and before I knew it, the exams were coming up. After that, the semester was already over and I flew back to Germany. Everything went by in a flash, so I didn’t manage to write a new blog post. And as of a few days ago, I’m already in my last semester. I would never have thought that two years could go by so quickly.
But before the next semester really begins, let’s take a look back at the past one. I have never regretted my decision to attend a lecture at Harvard. Although commuting three times a week took up a lot of time, it was worth it and I learned an incredible amount of new things. I never thought I would go back to a law lecture – they always seemed particularly long and difficult during my Bachelor’s degree. And yes, it was still challenging, but at the same time incredibly interesting. The simulation of an bankruptcy hearing was an absolute highlight. It was also fantastic to have access to the Harvard libraries. So at least you could have a bit of a change from all the studying.
Outside of university, there were also many highlights during the semester: I was able to watch the Northern Lights in Boston – and I didn’t even have to drive or travel far to do it, I just had to go outside. I celebrated my first real Thanksgiving and finally made it to a Boston Bruins ice hockey game. So at least I have checked football and ice hockey off my American sports bucket list. At the end of January, I already went to a Boston Celtics (basketball) game – so next semester promises to be another eventful one. Especially as my graduation is getting closer and closer and my Master’s degree is slowly coming to an end.
So on New Year’s Eve, I was not only able to look back on an extremely exciting year, but also look ahead to an eventful new year. You can hardly imagine how much I was looking forward to getting some rest between Christmas and New Year’s Eve and recharging my batteries for the final sprint.
